How is the distance measured?
By road, from the Ottawa Courthouse to the defendant’s address, rounded up to the next kilometre. The exact price, with tax, is shown before you pay.
What if the defendant can’t be served?
After the 3 attempts, you receive the Affidavit of Attempted Service. Additional attempts are available: ask from your account.
Can I cancel?
Yes, from your account, with a refund under the refund policy.
What documents do you serve?
Court-issued Plaintiff’s Claims (Form 7A), Defendant’s Claims (Form 10A) and Notices of Examination (Form 20H), with the documents served with them.
Can you serve someone who lives in Gatineau?
Yes, if the document was issued by the Ontario Small Claims Court (a Plaintiff’s Claim or a Defendant’s Claim) and the address is in Quebec, within 100 km by road of the Ottawa Courthouse. A Notice of Examination is served at Ontario addresses only.
Do you serve Quebec court documents?
No. We serve only documents issued by the Ontario Small Claims Court, including on people in Gatineau. We do not serve documents of Quebec courts or tribunals, including the Small Claims Division of the Court of Québec, and we are not bailiffs (huissiers de justice).

No. We do not prepare documents or give advice: we serve the one that was issued.
